Workers Prefer Private Health Insurance to Get Their Family Covered

When a company offers health insurance to its employees, they are happy to take it but now some recruits who work in small companies are getting into private health insurance because their spouse and children will be covered under this type of insurance and it will be less cheap than the company’s insurance plan. A survey done by the Kaiser Family Foundation and the Health Research and Educational Trust, and we came to know that thirty seven percent workers who work in a company with three to 199 employees can expect to pay 50 percent or more of the premium to get their family covered, compared with just 5 percent of employees at larger companies. Gary Claxton, a vice president at the Kaiser Family Foundation said “It’s hard to gauge how many people are opting out of employer-sponsored coverage, but the numbers could increase if employees face further cost increases and are willing to take less generous insurance coverage.”
